Siddhant Gupta

I am an Atmospheric Scientist working for the Atmospheric Radiation Measurement (ARM) user facility. My research background includes the study of cloud microphysical and kinematic properties using a wide range of observational datasets (in-situ probes, radar retrievals, and satellite retrievals). I have published studies of marine stratocumulus clouds over the southeast Atlantic Ocean using airborne observations from the NASA ORACLES field campaign. I have an upcoming study on isolated deep convection over the Amazon rainforest using observations from the GoAmazon2014/5 field campaign. Convection tracking was used along with retrievals from a Radar Wind Profiler to examine the lifecycle of the vertical profiles of updrafts, downdrafts, and the associated mass flux in deep convective clouds.

My work at Argonne will include the analysis of surface measurements and remote sensing retrievals and support for the upcoming ARM mobile facility (AMF3) at the Bankhead National Forest in Alabama.
