Biography

Steve Jankiewicz serves as an External Agreements Specialist within Argonne’s Computing, Environment and Life Sciences (CELS) directorate. In this role, he supports a wide range of collaborative and sponsored research activities, including Strategic Partnership Projects (SPPs), Cooperative Research and Development Agreements (CRADAs), Technical Service Agreements (TSAs), Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) and Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs), as well as Information Protection Assessments as the CELS Primary IAR and Research Project Enablement / Work Acceptance as the CELS D-RPE Lead. He works closely with CELS staff and external partners to structure and enable research collaborations, align agreements with laboratory policies, protect information and intellectual property, and streamline the initiation of new projects.

Steve served as an archaeologist for Argonne and program manager in the Environmental Science (EVS) division, where he supported a large-scale, complex federal Interagency Agreement. He is a member of the Register of Professional Archaeologists and exceeds the qualifications for an archaeologist as outlined in the Secretary of the Interior’s Professional Guidelines. He holds graduate degrees in Anthropology and Business Administration, with graduate certificates in geographic information analysis and museum studies, and an FAA certification as a commercial sUAS pilot.
