EVrez is a dynamic EV charging app developed by the Advanced Mobility and Grid Integration Technology department to offer a seamless charging experience for EV drivers. Deployed at Argonne National Laboratory for employees, the app integrates a flexible reservation system allowing users to select charging slots based on start time, duration, and energy needs. With real-time charger fleet data and OCPP 1.6J compatibility, EVrez provides smart charge management and offers predictive analytics to optimize charging efficiency. The app also provides detailed insights into driver behavior, energy usage, and EVSE session data, improving fleet management and user experience.
EVrez leverages real-time solar generation data in conjunction with reservation requests to proactively manage load during peak congestion. Using forecasted solar power data and requested energy, the system can create charging plans for individual EV charging sessions, reducing power draw when infrastructure limits are reached. This ensures continuous, reliable charging for drivers and maximizes the use of available renewable energy, all while preventing grid overload and prolonging the life of the charging equipment.
