Biography
As an assistant physicist, Henry leads the effort to understand the contribution of strangeness to the mechanical structure of the proton. He is the leader of a proposed experiment in Hall C at Jefferson Lab to measure the cross section for exclusive electroproduction of φ mesons. He is also involved in the design and construction of the Barrel Imaging Calorimeter for the ePIC experiment at the EIC and analysis of CLAS12 data at Jefferson Lab. The overarching goal of these projects is to provide unique insight into the structure of visible matter.
In addition to his current foci, Henry is a member of the H1 collaboration at HERA, where he used archived data to perform a novel measurement leveraging recent advances in QCD phenomenology to gain a more detailed understanding of the hadronic final state produced in e+p deep inelastic scattering at high energies. His current involvement in H1 focuses on studying baryon number and how it is distributed inside the proton. Henry was also a member of the sPHENIX collaboration at RHIC, where he participated extensively in the construction of the Time Projection Chamber which serves as the primary tracking component of the detector. He also worked on the design of detectors for particle identification and the physics of jets, culminating in contributions to both the detector and physics sections of the EIC Yellow Report.
