EVrez: Charge Station Management System/EV Charge Reservation Platform

Technology Details 

Argonne has developed a charge station management system – including mobile app – named EVrez that allows electric vehicle drivers in semi-public settings (condominium complexes, apartment complexes, corporate locations) to pre-reserve time on specific stations. 

This provides peace of mind for drivers who don’t have personal charging stations in single-family homes and need to be sure they can charge up at pre-determined times and for specific intervals. 

The mobile app is compatible with iOS and Android phones. It allows users to reserve specific station ports for designated times, preventing unauthorized usage and streamlining the charging process. Moreover, EVrez enables remote monitoring of charge sessions, providing real-time energy updates and notifications.

Charge station operators can integrate any Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP) 1.6J station (AC or DC) into the platform for monitoring and control.  Leveraging machine learning and AI, EVrez not only enhances user experience but also facilitates cutting-edge vehicle grid integration and smart charge management for charge station operators.   

The platform has been deployed at Argonne National Laboratory to cater to the EV charging needs of employees on the campus and oversee the management of charging stations.
