Venkat Srinivasan is the director of the Argonne Collaborative Center for Energy Storage Science (ACCESS) and deputy director of the Joint Center for Energy Storage Research (JCESR, the battery ​“Hub”). He is a former staff scientist at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab. His research interest is in developing next-generation batteries for use in vehicle and grid applications, among other things. Dr. Srinivasan and his research group develop continuum-based models for battery materials and combine them with experimental characterization to help design new materials, electrodes, and devices.

Dr. Y. Shirley Meng is a Professor of Molecular Engineering at the Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering. She serves as the Chief Scientist for Argonne Collaborative Center for Energy Storage Science (ACCESS) at Argonne National Laboratory. Dr. Meng’s research focuses primarily on energy storage materials and systems – including rechargeable batteries for electric vehicles and trucks, power sources for Internet of Things (IOTs), as well as grid-scale storage for deep renewable energy penetration.

Susan Babinec leads a comprehensive strategy that expands the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) vision for a future electric grid that includes a range of optimized energy storage capabilities.

Greg supports industry partnerships and commercialization of Argonne technologies in the areas of stationary energy storage, catalysis & fuel cell technologies, transportation research, and X-ray & accelerator sciences.

Dr. Ingram is the Group Leader of the Materials and Device Evaluation Group, which is comprised of the Electrochemical Analysis and Diagnostics, Post-Test Facility and NMR Laboratories. He is also the Director of the Center for Steel Electrification by Electrosynthesis (C-STEEL) centered at Argonne (one of the DOE’s Office of Science Energy Earthshot Research Centers).

Dr. Eungje Lee is a materials scientist in Argonne’s Chemical Sciences and Engineering division. He has over 15 years of experience in the development of materials for electrochemical energy storage and conversion systems.  

Jeff Spangenberger manages the Materials Recycling Group in Argonne National Laboratory’s Applied Materials division. His group works to solve material separation, recovery, and recycling challenges resulting in cost effective and environmentally sustainable processes resulting in commercialized plants.
