Beginning Wednesday, October 1, 2025, Argonne National Laboratory will adopt the Occupational Safety and Health Administration+ (OSHA+) model for most new subcontracted construction activities. This change, authorized by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), replaces the current 10 CFR Part 851, Worker Safety and Health Program requirements for this type of work.

What is Considered Construction?

Construction is a combination of erection, installation, assembly, demolition, or fabrication activities to create a new facility or to alter, add to, rehabilitate, dismantle, or remove an existing facility.

Contractor Requirements

To qualify for construction opportunities at the Lab, contractors must comply with the requirements shown below.

  1. Be Active & Registered on SAM website.
  2. Utilize the LCPTracker Database (Free of Charge).
  3. Provide Performance and Payment Bonds – Payment Bonds required awards exceeds $35,000.00; Performance Bond required award exceeds $150,000.00.
  4. Comply with the Buy American Act for Construction Materials.
  5. Comply with the Davis-Bacon Act (Minimum Wages for Public Work Employees).
  6. Understand our Terms and Conditions.
